MightyText no longer unlimited, Yappy welcomes converts!

Yesterday Pushbullet announced their new paywall which makes standard features a Pro only affair, charging users $4.99 a month to retain features that have been standard. One of the most crippling changes for free users is the limit of being able to send just 100 SMS messages a month.

Today we found out that MightyText has also limited their free accounts to just 250 messages a month! Some of our users send that many messages a day.

So if you are a MightyText user and don’t want to pay to send SMS messages, give Yappy a spin! We allow our free users to send an unlimited amount of SMS messages.

Pushbullet no longer free, Yappy welcomes converts!

Today Pushbullet announced Pushbullet Pro, a paid version of Pushbullet. Like many companies, rather than adding value through new features which they can charge for, Pushbullet decided to handicap current users and make features which were already freely available a part of the paid Pro version.

One of the biggest drawbacks of Pushbullet is that users are now limited to only sending 100 SMS messages a month. To send unlimited messages, you have to pony up $4.99 a month! Other features such as mirrored notification action support and copy/paste is also now a Pushbullet Pro feature only.

We’ve received numerous messages on social media and are seeing a huge influx of Pushbullet converts because Yappy will always support free unlimited SMS messages! We will not force you to pay a hefty fee just to send SMS messages!

So if you are a Pushbullet user and don’t want to pay to send SMS messages, give Yappy a spin! Also, check out our post Why Yappy works when Pushbullet and MightyText fail

In Android, GCM (Google Cloud Messaging) is the defacto built-in mechanism which apps can leverage to ‘push’ messages from a server to the phone.
